At last, I got rid of all my backlog posts for the year 2012. So, may I present to you my first ever outfit for 2013. Wohooo!

When my family and I arrived here in Manila from the province, we decided to dedicate a whole day to enjoy the presence of each other becasue once again classes will start and my family needs to go back to the province and obviously we are going to be left behind:(  So what's the best way to relax and bond? Of course, without a  doubt, go to the mall! As Robin Scherbatsky once sang, "let's go to the mall" LOL (If you're not a HIMYM viewer you probably won't understand what I'm talking about,so go watch it now JK). 

For my outfit I went overdrive with pastels. I went so crazy that I can now be addressed as the WALKING ICECREAM LOL. As you can see there are two colors that I mainly used, pastel pink and mint green and I'm super happy with the result because personally, I think the two colors look perfect together. 

I want to bring out the color of my undershirt so I went on and used a lot of greens for my accessories and to balance the outfit I topped it of with my glittery flats which look like a pastel pink so it works.

You may not notice, but this is not the first time that have blogged about my top, it's first appearance is in this post. I love that it kinda has a little peplum effect on the bottom part of it which makes the outfit more adorable.

Today is a great day. The sun is out and I just don't feel like doing anything so I'll just probably enjoy browsing all the social media sites and eating whatever we have in here LOL. I hope you also have  nice day :)

One more thing. It's the 1st year anniversary of my Youtube Channel(TheThriftyHannako) and I'm planning to do a Q&A video later. Happy Holidays everybody! One last post before Christmas.

I just want to share to you what I wore to the Bloggers United 4 last week. I was having a hard time coming up with an outfit since I was supposed to meet my idols and I want to look the part. 

I decided to go with this dress that I thrifted awile back. This piece is both classy and trendy and nothing can beat that combo, plus this color is so hot right now *I'm obsessed with it. I just threw on this blazer with irregular polka dots to add some character and of course I  added a  detachable peter pan collar necklace for that additional preppiness. I also decided to wear tights since I think this dress is a tad bit short for me and I don't want to be flashing anyone with my bum LOL.

My inspiration for this pairing is to be up to date with the trends but still having a little bit of me in there. Hence, the blazer and the peter pan collar necklace.

I know everyone is going to be busy this holiday, including me. My brother's birthday is coming up plus there's a lot of parties(Debut, Christmas Party, etc.) that I need to attend so I guess I'll talk to you probably next year LOL Haha. 

2012 has been a good year for me. It gave me a lot of new things: a blog, a youtube channel, new friends, new school, new life and now that its about to end I am hoping for a new hope and I wish 2013 will give me that.

And let's be thankful it's not the end of the world only the end of 2012.

Bloggers United 4

ACK! It's time to share my first Bloggers United experience. 

This is very exciting for me since I have been waiting for that time to finally see my favorite filipino fashion bloggers and I'm so happy I finally met them in personal. I think I have been good this year that's why Santa gave me an early christmas gift :)

Let me just describe my feelings that day. So it was a Saturday and annoyingly, we have a class from 11am-3pm so I have to wait anxiously the whole period not even listening to a word my professor is saying, that's how excited I am. 

As soon as we were dismissed(My prof bare with me and dismissed us early), I squeaked and literally were so anxious to get home. We went to the World Trade Center as fast as we can. There's like this little aisle that we have to walk through to get to the Bloggers United area and I was shaking the whole time. I began to see familiar faces and I was like smiling and just wanted to pinch myself just to make sure I'm not dreaming LOL. We decided to spend a good half hour just to take picture with all the bloggers and collect ourselves from the shock that day brought. Anyway too much excitement here, I think I just have to let the pictures speak for themselves.

Camille was actually late from work but then as soon as she arrived, she began to entertain all of her fans and took pictures and interacted with them. She was so sweet and very down to earth. Seeing her is definitely the perfect way to end the year 2012.

And that's my BU4 experience. At the end it's not about the idea of shopping clothes from bloggers but seeing them in their human form. Wow, that came out wrong. What I'm trying to say is, when I look at their blogs and read their entries I have the feeling that I can't reach them but after this day, I now knew that they are normal people who just loves doing what they do.

10 Must-have Wardrobe Basics

I finally decided to do this post, the 10 Must-have Wardrobe Basics. I know you can see a bunch of lists like this over the internet, but this is my personal opinion on what should be on all women/ girl's closet. 

I think you now know that I have a thing for blazers. I adore them for they give a casual look an *oomph and a polished outfit sophistication. Ideally, the must-have color for a blazer is black, but for me, navy blue is also an essential. 

Jeans have been among us since the 18th century and I think or more likely I believe that it will never go out of style.  A woman should at least have one pair of perfect fitting dark wash jeans. Why dark wash you might ask? Among all the washes of jeans, the dark wash seems to portray different kind of style and is the classic blue jeans.

As I say, you can never have enough white shirts. White top with a bow, a simple buttoned down, peter-pan collared top, normal sleeves, quarter sleeves, long sleeve, you can have it all, and it's never a regret to buy them.

I think everyone will agree with me on this one, the ultimate LBD or the little black dress. Every woman should have an LBD, whether it's a shift dress, a skater dress, a tight-fitting dress it can give you that elegant and class.  I think that the LBD is the living proof of the saying Simplicity is Beauty.

Of course we cannot forget the shoes, right ladies? To go with your little back dress, you should have you little black shoes LOL. It s the mother of all basic shoes and I'll go ahead and call it as the all-purpose shoes.  It can be casual or dressy and can depict different kinds of style. On the other hand, nude shoes I think is worthy enough to be called a must-have. It's for those ladies who prefers its light presence rather than the black one. But either shoes can give you what you want in an outfit. I myself  have been lusting for a nude heels sometime now, and I haven't found the perfect one, even though I know it doesn't exist. 

For those ladies out there who can't stand a day wearing heels, well I also got some basic flats for you. Many say that flats are never a pride of the fashion industry but then fashion should not always be about style/trend, it should also consider comfort, because that's the reason why these clothes are invented anyway. Anyway, stick with the basic colors and you're good to go.

Shorts-wise,  highwaisted is the word. I remember those times that shorts are only used when lounging at home. But now, whether you're going for casual or dressier looks,  shorts can now be there for usage. But for me, I'm not totally over the fact that shorts were used only for your family/housemates to see. But eventually I see that shorts, high-waisted shorts specifically can be decent enough to be worn outside the house. And a few must-have are a black,red. navy blue and khaki high-waisted shorts, and of course a denim high-waisted shorts. 

Basic tees, I think I don't need to explain this. It's a must-have and it's always going to be a must-have.

I think we all have denim jackets we're been hiding inside our cabinets.  Well, it's time to get those babies out because it is now considered as a basic piece, I think it always have been. Anyway, a denim jacket is an essential because it can be worn on all season, in any country, and in any time zone LOL.  

And finally, skirts! Skirts are my recently discovered obsession. Again, you can never go wrong with a simple black skirt but also then again a navy-blue one can be as essential.

Casual jeans day

Jeans! I actually wore jeans again, well, technically it's colored jeans and it is not actually the traditional jeans. But anyway, since I get the hang of wearing shorts, skirts, and dresses everyday, my jeans were left at my closet drawers sadly waiting for their turn to have a day out LOL. Another sad thing is,  jeans were now perceived as not that of a trendy piece anymore (Oh yeah, it's all about the trends now adays, unfortunately!) but the thing is,  a good pair of fitting jeans is a must have to any lady's closet (Oh I think I should do a closet must have post, huh? What do you think). With the right accessories and pieces, a humble casual jeans can now strive against those trendy pieces out there, and so here is my take on a casual jeans day. 

I wore this to a family day out two weeks ago. I was really excited to wear this top the moment my mom handed it to me. I guess it's the color and the material used. But then at the time I decided to wear it, I suddenly can't think of an outfit to incorporate it with. Because in reality it's really hard to think of an outfit especially if you want to wear all of them out. Unless you really  have a bunch of clothes that you could build your outfit from, in that case, that would be as easy as pie. But as I always say, you have to consider some things: activities for the day, weather, and personal style. In that way, you won't have a hard time thinking of an appropriate outfit. 

Color-wise I went for toned down hues. There aren't really bold colors since I like it simple and light. Though I wish I used more toned down colors, maybe pastels? It would have been better.

Let's talk about another topic, shall we? 

Our Pharma week,  as the students from the Faculty of Pharmacy call it, is going to take place last week of November, and me as a freshman, is very excited about it. We'll have parades, pageant, and a bunch of different activities which I believe is super fun. A week away from schoolwork, just enjoying the essence of being a pharmacy student. Well, I should not get ahead myself. Because I always do this thing were I expect a lot from a thing, event, or person but ending up disappointed.I guess,  I'll just hope for the best and be excited when it's actually there in front of my flat face LOL. 

For now, i'll just focus more on productive things like maybe looking over my lessons? Or maybe I'll just do it later and continue procrastinating. Which sounds better? 

Ok fine, I'll now review before you all start hating on me :)
