Brick Wall

I'm back, for the nth time! I think we all know how this goes, I'll blog today and will be back after a month. I'll say sorry, then do it all over again. Well, can you blame me? Yes you can LOL.  And then I can blame my course(pharmacy) for being sooooo freaking ungenerous with time.
Moving on! Last week, we celebrated my birthday, well it's a late celebration since my birthday was on July 29. Maybe I''ll talk about my actually happened on my birthday , but for now, let me tell you about what happened on the late celebration of my birthday with my family. We decided to vist the Our Lady of Manaoag to pray and give thanks for all the blessings that we are getting.

Considering we're going to a sacred place, I opted to wear pants. Plus, I know I'll just be snoozing most of the time of travel since it's a four hour drive,  and I'm more comfortable with some pants on.

I paired my pant's with an equally decent top. I want to sport a very classy look so I went with this peterpan collar top. Then I added a bow to give it a youthful look.

I used a pair of loafers to continue with the classy vibe. And I also like how the print gives the outfit more oomph and character.

To tie the look altogether, I used this turquoise bag that I absolutely love. Can you see that tassel over there? That's my favorite thing about it, besides it's color.

Then I just grabbed a bunch of bracelets that I think looks good with the outfit. And I came up with these three. I don't know why but I always gravitate towards the pearl bracelet whenever I go out.

Enjoy the long weekend for me because I would be spending my time studying for all the tests lined up for next week. But for now, I'll go out my friends and watch the "Sea of Monsters". Woot woot!

Back Revelation

Oh freedom! Why'd you leave me so fast. Tomorrow, classes will start again for some universities and unfortunately UST is one of them. That's why today, I'll be doing everything I want (like blogging*wink face) because for sure I will soon be saying goodbye to freedom while welcoming stress and a lot of work, again!
#Student problems

Anyway, here's my second outfit in Hongkong. After going to Ocean Park in our 1st day, we decided to go to another amusement park in our 2nd day, and obviously that would be DISNEYLAND!!!

As I have said in my last post, it would be a lot more convinient to wear a pair of shorts when going to amusement parks because it does not only allow you to move but it is also an appropriate thing to wear to combat heat.

This time I went for a more casual look, just a shirt and a pair of denim cut offs which is the typical thing to wear when you're in Disneyland. You might just want to go for comfort instead of style, but again no one said anything about both right?

What i love about this outfit is even it's a simple combination, the print of the top definitely takes it to another level of casual wear. It gave it more spunk and character.

Of course, that's not the only thing I love about this top. It has this revelation in the back that serves as another passage of air because apparently wearing a pair of shorts is not enough to combat heat.

I love that my top has a bunch of colors in it that I didn't have a hard time picking out accessories to go with it.

This is probably my favorite outfit I wore in Hongkong. It's very comfortable yet it look put together at the same time(Will definitely hoard tops like this).

Top: Forever 21 | Shorts: Thrifted | Bag: Coach | Shoes: SupraFame | Pearl Bracelet: Forever 21 | Cross Bracelet: Trinkets for Keeps | Braided Bracelet: Simone's Closet

So for all those student's out there, enjoy your time while you can or you just sleep whole day because you probably won't get some in the next 5 months *evil laugh* well of course including me.
As always have a nice day!

Nautical Again!

Hello everybody! Your lousy blogger on duty, and yep I'm referring to myself. Besides from being an inconsistent blogger well I just think I don't talk to you enough anymore. But here I am again with a post in a random date and I just want to thank you all :D

Last week my family and I went to Hongkong for a vacation. And I took that chance to take some outfits shots since my brother is there to take it. *Sigh this blog will never be alive without my bro. Anyway, I am thankful for him every single time he takes my outfits shots. Speaking of outfits, here what I wore to our first day in Hongkong, our first stop OCEAN PARK BABY!

A little tip when you go to any amusement part, do not wear anything that might expose you "hooha". And that's a lesson I learned when I'm in the line of "The Flash" looking at a very uncomfrotable lady that is about to be turned upside down by "The Flash" in a mini flouncy skirt. Well I'm glad my mom had told me to pack some shorts instead of skirts I can even hear her voice right now echoing indide of my head saying " I told you so". Moms, why are they always right?

Since I don't have a large collection of shorts I'm always glad to have a pair of basic shorts that I can wear a bajillion times. I was feeling nautical that day so I went all out nautical, againnnn! I can't stop myself from pairing these three colors together, they just look so freaking good together and a striped top just put the outfit all together.

For the accessories, I feel another tip coming guys. I say always settle for minimal accessories, unless you want to loose every single jewelry you have riding all those amusement rides all day. For me I just went with my dainty cross bracelet, a pearl bracelet and to add a nautical vibe I added a brown beaded bracelet which always reminds me of something nautical, I just can't seem to recall it.

What item can be more nautical than an anchor, right? *wink

And yes we did it on purpose taking photos with a perfectly equal nautical background, with all the ropes and stuff haha.

It's a fun day and a lot of memories to treasure. And I can't wait to show you all the pictures we took. For now, I wish you all a wonderful day.

Style Satyr

Hola! Ok, I'm not going to get into the whole apologizing thing but let's just say I'm spending my summer sulking and just enjoying the couch here in my house which is probably the reason why I lack posts. But we did go to Bacolod awhile back and here's what I wore.

What I like about this outfit is how the floral bottom balances the edginess of the upper half of my outfit. And if you're wondering that is also the reason behind my title. Well, I don't know how I compared my outfit with a satyr, since a satyr is a half goat and a half human, but I guess I'm just obsessed with greek mythology that I'll find any way to talk about it (wink face).

I accessorized combining gold and silver pieces and sticked to black with my bag and shoes.

This is the outfit I wore when we flew back to Manila so I thought a blazer would be great for warmth while flying. On the otherhand, this outfit would still work with the blazer off.

Upon arriving in Manila we immediately went to MOA and luckily we were a little early so we managed some outfit shots in the aisle thing :)

Top: Baclaran | Leggings: Chic Label | Shoes: Supra Fame | Bag: Thrifted

Seeing these photos made me miss my long hair, oh yes I haven't shown you my new hair yet but you can check it out on my youtube channel, just in case you want to see it.

Have a nice day!

Look who decided to blog, Me!

I know! I know! It's really been awhile since my last post in this blog, it's been two months to be exact. I won't do the apologizing routine that all bloggers do when they had an unannounced hiatus. Instead I would just say, it's a new day and it's time to start my blog running again.

Before I'll go with my outfit I would like to update you on the things that I've been up to these past few months.  First of all, I've been quite committed to my Youtube Channel, TheThriftyHannako, and now I have 1,900+ subscribers/friends and I couldn't be more thankful and happy. And I guess that is also a minute reason why I haven't been blogging. But if you want more than 1 OOTD or if you want fashion  how tos then my channel is right for you ;) And the second thing would be me having my first internship as a pharmacy student. It's a one month internship which leaves me having only one month vacation. But so far I'm enjoying this internship and am learning a lotttt!

So now shall we go to my outfit? Yes we can! LOL
This is again one of my typical go-to outfits. I wore this when I went to church and knowing I'm going to a holy place and not a fashion event I decided to dress appropriately. And for me the most appropriate attire is composed of pants. This is just to avoid all those blinding and scary glares and stares from elders, they can be really scary sometimes.

I have seen bracelets like this everywhere and I noticed that  it's one of the favorite pieces people use for their arm candy and I can't blame them because it's so freaking cute. I know these pieces ( those with cross figures) can be a little controversial sometimes but I'm a catholic myself and I'm not offended when someone wears something with a cross on it.
I bought this bracelet along with two short necklaces in an online store I recently found. It's called Trinkets For Keeps and they sell dainty jewellry pieces which i've been also really liking.

As usual I went with my favorite color hue, PASTELS. It's just so springy and me! And that's all it takes for me to dress up like a cotton candy.

Blazer: Forever 21 | Pants and Top: ChicLabel | Necklace: Accessorize

I've been thinking about posting my videos here in this blog but I'm not a 100% sure if you'll be ok with that so I would ask you a favor to comment on what you think about this idea.
I would like to thank all of you for the continued support, I now have 100 followers/friends that's is just amazing!
Have a nice day

Is it a DOG or a HORSE?

I'm back! Well, just for now. I'm on a study break and I thought I should do this post now because I might not squeeze this in for next week because of my crazy schedule. There's a lot of pre-final examinations and just schoolwork in general. So sorry if I lack posts this week and will lack posts for next week.

This is again a very casual outfit that I wore on a family day out. And usually the day was spent on shopping and eating. We actually went to Baclaran and it was pretty amazing to shop there. Everything is so cheap. But on the down side, you have to buy it as wholesale or what we call here in the Philippines as "pakyawan". I did a haul on what I bought at Baclaran so if you want to see that just click here.

Back on the outfit, I was very sure that I will shorts that day beacuse it was so hot out, but I have this one rule that when I show skin in the bottom half of my body, then, I have to cover up in the other half. But once again it was very hot out so I went with a long sleeve sheer top. It covers my skin but it's not too heavy that I'll die because of heat.

As you can see I kind of went with a color scheme of red, blue and black and I thought the colors work well together. This outfit is preppy and at the same time edgy and I thought that it's very interesting to mix those two style together. It reminds me of something Blair Waldorf would wear when she's a rebel LOL.
Top: Thrifted | Shorts: Thrifted | Belt: SM Department Store
Can anybody tell me what's in the print of my shirt, Is it a DOG or a HORSE? I have been very curious about it and I can't seem to decide what it is LOL.
Skull and Cross Bracelets: Divisoria
Shoes: Thrifted

I am very upset about the fact that I can post here as much as I want to because of my schedule. It's just really been so hard regarding schoolwork since I have to step up my game and I can't do that If my time is going to be divided so I hope you'd understand.

Anyway, to make it up to you, I do make videos more because it's easier to make it and I thought I'd share some here:)

The Flash in Disguise

Prelim exams were wrapped up and I finally got to blog(Woot!woot!). Doesn't it feel like it's been a really long time since I last posted here? Well, it's actually just a week but still, I missed blogging and just talking and sharing my outfits to you in general.

This post is going to be all about debuts, which is helpful mostly to those who belong to the same age bracket as mine. But it can also be helpful for my more mature readers out there.

Tip No.1 Always dress up according to the dress code. If the dress code is not indicated, it is better for you to ask the debutant personally. This little piece of information will guide you in creating you outfit for the occasion. It helps avoid overdressing/underdressing and can also help and guide you color-wise.

Tip No. 2 One of the fashion no-no's for girls is having to share the exact same dress/ensemble in an occasion. Doesn't this scenario suck? Well at least it is for me, because standing out and making a statement is very crucial for me. It is just so frustrating to have prepared for a substantial amount of time thinking of what to wear to a debut and when you finally decided on a very pretty dress there is atleast one person that wears the exact thing that you have on. To steer away from this dilemma, find pieces that have really interesting cuts and details to come up with the perfect stand out ensemble. Another way is to go completely the opposite of my first advice. Go for minimalistic or classic cuts and silhouttes and you can stand out just the same. But despite of everything I said, the first thing to consider is not to outshine the debutant. Yes I know, let's say you really want to make a statement but it's her night and she should be the only 'queen of the night'. Let us just give her this one night shall we? We can have all teh other nights for ourselves after this LOL.  I know it's really hard to stand out but at the same time toned down, but I'm sure that if you see the dress/ensemble the first time, you'll know that it's the one(whoa! parang sa totoong buhay lang ah).
I only have two tips for now, and let's hope for more in the future :)

Let's move on to what I wore to the first debut I ever attended.

Evidently, the theme for the night are neon and bright colors. And knowing my style, I'm never really the kind of girl who likes really bright colors. I always stick to my basic colors and neutrals pretty much conquer my closet. Nevertheless, it is really nice to have these occassions as an excuse to dress up away from my comfort zone. Plus I really have been waiting for an event to wear this dress out. Isn't it the perfect dress for this occasion?

What I love about this dress is the cut of it. When we hear of asymmetrical dresses,  we always think about high-low/mullet dresses. Well, I introduce you to another asymmetrical dress.
This ensemble is also the perfect balance of standing out but still gives a room for the debutante to shine. So....
Goes by the dress code? CHECK!
Appropriate for the occasion? CHECK!

Necklace: SM Department Store
Bracelets: All from Divisoria
Dress: Thrift Store | Boots: BU4(Ms. Kookie Buhain) | Leather jacket: Thrift store | Clutch: SM Department store
So far, this is just my first debut to become a part of and I know this year is going to be packed with a lot of debut celebrations which means I really am getting old LOL. Anyway, I guess I better start collecting pretty dresses huh?

P.S. I am just curious on your opinion of debuts. Would you want to have one for yourself? If yes, what is your dream debut celebration?

What do you think of my outfit?
